WE HAPPILY REVIEW UNSOLICITED QUERIES SUBMITTED WITH CARE

We accept submissions strictly via our dedicated email address:

submissions@dvagency.com

While we appreciate the charm and effort of letters and of print on the physical page, submissions sent to our office address will not be reviewed.

We urge you to familiarize yourself with our clients and projects before submitting.

What we’ve represented in the past isn’t a guarantee that we are seeking more of the same, nor does it disqualify work disparate in genre or subject, but our prior work is indication of the quality and idiosyncrasy we are seeking in new projects. Please note: we do not represent television, film, or theatrical scripts. Lastly, though this should go without saying: we are safe, supportive readers for LGBTQIA and BIPOC writers.

We naturally favor queries that are clear, concise, and personable.

Tell us a bit about your book without marketing vernacular or literary flourish. Tell us where the book would sit on the shelves and name some titles or authors you think are kin. Tell us a little about yourself, your writing history, and your professional background. Be yourself.

Please keep your query contained within the body of the email.

Neither attachments nor online links will be opened. We are happy to review a brief sample of the work itself, so long as it is inserted in the body of your email. Please send the opening sections of the work. Middle sections or non-contiguous sections that read out of context are rarely helpful. Essays and stories, of course, can be submitted without mind to order unless chronology is key; please limit to two or three.

We beg you to understand: because of volume we cannot respond to each and every query we receive.

If we are interested in reading your work, we will be in touch. If you have not heard from us within 6-8 weeks, it is safe to assume that we have passed on the opportunity. If this is the case, please know that we appreciate you thinking of us and trust a more fitting agent is out there waiting for you.
