Joseph Nocera has commanded the business beat at Esquire, Fortune, GQ, and Texas Monthly. At the New York Times, he was a business columnist, an opinion columnist, and a sports reporter. He is currently an opinion columnist at Bloomberg. You can listen to his Bloomberg-Wondery podcast "The Shrink Next Door" on Wondery, Apple, Spotify, or wherever you find podcasts.

Nocera has won three Gerald Loeb awards, including the 2008 award for commentary, three John Hancock awards for excellence in business journalism, and the New York Public Library’s 1995 Helen Bernstein Award. In 2007, he was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.

With Bethany McLean, Nocera is at work on a book exploring the interplay of systemic forces that rendered America woefully ill-equipped to cope with the deadliest pandemic since the 1918 Spanish Flu.
